1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using Make 3D Things, Print Studio, a customer account, or a purchased design file, you agree to these Terms and any product specific license terms that apply to your purchase.

If you use the services on behalf of a business or another organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.

If you have not reached the age required to enter a binding agreement where you live, a parent or legal guardian should review and accept these Terms for you.

2. Print Studio

Print Studio is a browser based 3D design and editing tool provided by Make 3D Things. The Studio is offered free of charge and may include tools for creating shapes, modifying geometry, sculpting, importing files, exporting files, and saving designs.

You may use Print Studio without purchasing a design file. Some features, such as account based saving, may require an account.

We may update the Studio, improve tools, correct errors, modify technical requirements, or change how particular features work as the product develops.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for information submitted through your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Activity completed through your account is treated as activity associated with you unless you notify us of unauthorized access.

Provide accurate account and order information and update it when needed so downloads, receipts, support, and licensing records can function properly.

4. Designs you create

You retain your rights in original designs and other content you create and own. Using Print Studio does not transfer ownership of your original work to Make 3D Things.

When you choose to save, upload, or otherwise store a design through our services, you give Make 3D Things the limited permission needed to host, store, process, reproduce, back up, and display that content to you for the purpose of operating the service.

You are responsible for making sure content you import, edit, save, export, print, or distribute respects the rights of other people and complies with applicable law.

5. Purchased design files

Design files sold through Make 3D Things are licensed rather than transferred as unrestricted intellectual property. Purchasing a design gives you the rights described by the license selected for that product.

Product pages may describe included file formats, dimensions, intended use, print guidance, and other product specific details. Those details form part of the purchase description.

6. Personal and commercial licenses

Personal Use License

A Personal Use License allows you to print the purchased design for yourself, use it in your own projects, create noncommercial gifts, and modify the digital design for uses permitted by the personal license.

Commercial Use License

A Commercial Use License includes the permitted personal uses and also allows you to sell physical objects you manufacture from the licensed design, subject to any product specific conditions shown at purchase.

Digital files stay protected

Both license types protect the digital design file itself. You may not share, upload, distribute, sublicense, publish, resell, or provide the original digital file or a modified digital version to another person as a substitute for purchasing their own license.

More detail is available on the License page. If a product specific license and these general Terms address the same design use differently, the product specific license controls for that product.

7. Prices, payments, and taxes

Prices are shown on the site and may differ between personal and commercial license options. Prices can change for future purchases.

You authorize the payment provider presented at checkout to charge the amount shown for your order. Applicable taxes may be added according to your location, the product, and legal requirements.

An order is complete when payment is accepted and the store confirms the purchase.

8. Digital delivery and refunds

Purchased design files are delivered digitally through the download method shown after checkout, through your account, by email, or through another method identified on the product page.

Digital products are supplied for immediate access. Refund requests for digital purchases are reviewed in light of the nature of the product, whether the file has been accessed, technical problems, duplicate purchases, material product description errors, and rights provided by applicable consumer law.

If a file is corrupt, materially incomplete, or different from the product you purchased, contact us so we can review the order and provide an appropriate resolution.

9. Acceptable use

Use Make 3D Things in a lawful way and in a manner that supports reliable access for other users. You agree to avoid activities such as:

• Accessing another person's account or data without authorization.
• Introducing malicious code or attempting to bypass security controls.
• Interfering with the operation, availability, or performance of the site or Studio.
• Using automated systems in a way that places unreasonable load on the service.
• Using the service to infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights.
• Using the service for conduct prohibited by applicable law.

10. Printing and physical use

3D printing results depend on factors outside the digital file, including printer calibration, slicer settings, material, orientation, layer height, supports, tolerances, environmental conditions, post processing, and user modifications.

You are responsible for evaluating whether a printed object is appropriate for its intended physical use. Designs used in safety critical, structural, medical, food contact, electrical, high temperature, child safety, or other regulated applications should receive appropriate testing and qualified review for that application.

11. Make 3D Things intellectual property

Make 3D Things owns or licenses the site design, branding, software, text, graphics, original store designs, and other materials provided through the service, except for content identified as belonging to users or third parties.

These Terms give you permission to use the services and licensed products according to their intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of Make 3D Things intellectual property.

12. Service availability and changes

We work to keep the site, store, account functions, downloads, and Studio available and useful. Maintenance, updates, hosting issues, browser changes, security events, internet conditions, or other operational factors can affect availability.

We may change, replace, improve, or discontinue individual features when needed to operate and develop the service.

13. Warranties

Make 3D Things provides the site, Studio, and digital products according to the descriptions presented at the time of use or purchase and the rights that applicable law provides to you.

To the extent permitted by law, services and files are provided on an as available basis and results from 3D modeling, slicing, printing, modification, or physical use depend on your equipment, settings, materials, decisions, and environment.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Make 3D Things will be responsible only for losses that are directly connected to our breach of these Terms or legal obligations and that are reasonably foreseeable in the circumstances.

To the extent permitted by law, Make 3D Things is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or business losses arising from printer performance, material failure, slicer settings, user modifications, third party files, third party services, or physical use decisions.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that applicable consumer law makes mandatory.

15. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or suspend access to an account or service where reasonably necessary to address fraud, security risks, unlawful activity, serious abuse, repeated infringement, or material violations of these Terms.

You may stop using the service at any time. Rights already granted under a paid design license remain subject to the license terms that applied to that purchase.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, subject to any mandatory consumer protection or other rights that apply in your place of residence.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Make 3D Things, Print Studio, store features, license options, or legal requirements evolve. The current version will be posted on this page with its updated date.

For material changes affecting ongoing account use, we may also provide additional notice through the site, account, or contact information associated with your account.
