01 / Studio
Is Print Studio really free?
Yes. Every Studio feature is available free. The store makes money from design files, not from charging for access to the modeling tools.
Do I need an account to use the Studio?
You can open the Studio and start working without an account. An account becomes useful for saved designs tied to you, purchases, downloads and account history.
Do I have to install anything?
Print Studio runs in the browser. Open the Studio page and use it there.
02 / Files + formats
What files can I import?
Print Studio supports STL, OBJ, PLY and 3MF imports.
What can I export?
You can export STL, OBJ, PLY and 3MF. The best choice depends on the slicer or workflow you use after the Studio.
Can I edit a file I already downloaded somewhere else?
Yes, as long as the file uses a supported format and you have the right to modify it.
03 / Buying designs
Who makes the paid design files?
The designs sold in the Make 3D Things library are original files created by Make 3D Things.
Can I change a design after I buy it?
Yes. A purchased design can be printed as provided or brought into Print Studio when you want to resize, reshape or combine it with something else.
How do I get the file after purchase?
Your downloadable files are delivered through the WooCommerce purchase flow and remain available through your account where WooCommerce supports it.
04 / Licenses
What is the difference between personal and commercial use?
Personal use covers prints for yourself, your household, hobby projects and gifts. Commercial use is the option for selling physical prints made from the design.
Can I sell physical prints made from a personal license?
Choose the commercial license when you plan to sell the physical prints.
Can I share or resell the digital design file?
The license covers your use of the design. The digital design file itself stays with the purchaser and is not for redistribution or resale.
05 / Accounts
Why would I create an account if the Studio is free?
Purchases, downloads and saved work are the main reasons. The Studio itself remains available without an account.
Where do I find my purchases?
Use the My Account area for WooCommerce orders and downloads.
